It is Sunday and this on its own is a good reason to enjoy one or more of the 25 free events taking place in London. Here are some suggestions:

  •  Let your children fly on a magic carpet to storytelling at the National Gallery! This activity is free and is suitable for children 2-5 years old. There are two sessions-10.30am and 11.30am-and places are allocated upon arrival.
  • What would you say if you could create your own comic? If you would like to do that, then head to the British Museum at 11.30am and take part at this free family activity (the workshop is suitable for ages 7+).
  • Don’t miss the screening of a series of short films about the creative relationship of Pere Portabella and Joan Miró and also about different aspects of Miró’s work. You can watch them for free at Tate Modern at 3pm. No booking taken, but places are limited.
  • Have the chance to watch a free screening of a version of the speech James Stirling delivered at Yale University, having to do with the announcement he made at the International Congress of Architecture in Persepolis towards the end of 1974. It starts at 4pm, but it is 5 minutes long and is continuously playing during this hour-long screening.
